I just hit $200k NW and it’s been 7 months since I made my post (link below) about hitting $100k NW in Dec ‘21.
I’m just mind-blown since it took me 2.5 years to get the first $100k and it’s snowballed from there. I’ve gone from $82.5k TC to $238k TC plus a $20k appreciation on a house I bought at the beginning of the year
Can’t really talk about finances with friends/family so this is the only place I can share milestones like this haha…we’ll see if I can hit $300k by EOY

I wasn’t able to negotiate a raise within my company at the time, but I was able to bump up the salary when interviewing somewhere else. Numbers wise I started high, but realistically so, and came down a bit, but still much higher than my actual bottom line. I made sure to give real examples of what I had done before and how it was successful.
As you mention, documenting your achievements is key. When you do something that has gone well, if you've saved the day, or better yet, saved some money for the organization, jot that down. Keep notes on your workplace wins. And when you want to make a case for yourself, refer to those notes to get it all fresh in your mind.

I negotiated a 20k increase by bringing hard facts on market averages in the area within my industry, listing all increased duties that were not in the job description, and using a recently obtained degree for leverage. I had a well thought out two page proposal that was detailed but not so full of fluff that it wasn't a quick read. I ended up getting a random 2k more than I asked for.
