Oh, on the very first day one of my friends had her director claim to have never heard of Discover and ask if she could have her work laptop shipped to her at the hotel since she'd left it at home, since...you know...that's kind of the whole point of Discover. I thought that was completely ridiculous. My team was good about leaving me alone, though.
The New Senior Program at EY is not like discover at all
Wait! We get the $5K bonus and something similar to your Discovery. You guys only get one? Is that how it is at KPMG and Deloitte too?
Deloitte doesn't do 5k bonus or "discover" thing.. Just crappy raises apparently
Your*
Eh. Discover was fun. Nice resort. No real requirement to attend most events. Open bars. Free flights to and from the left coast. I stayed on and took an extra week of vacation in LA too.
Since I would never treat myself to stay at a resort like that out of pocket. Yeah, I'll take the beautiful scenery, and lounging by the pool while skipping the full-group events, and expensing margaritas all afternoon on my corporate card. The hour or so a day I had to sit in small group therapy and come up with some bullshit about goals was a small price to pay.
No way? 😳 Really? I feel so bamboozled!
I think the 5k was also a great milestone reward.
So you'd take that over a 5k+ bonus and enjoyed telling your story of what inspired you ?
Would you be able to bring someone to the resort? Since I heard you don't have to share rooms during discover
P2- Technically, pretty sure that was against the rules.... Dunno how rigid in reality but I wouldn't want to test their flexibility.
@pwc1 yea I'll take the money, and use my travel points to go somewhere nice.
@EY2, It's not? My understanding was that it was.
Discover = resort. New senior program is just another training basically. It was no different than core assurance training
It was 2 nights in a hotel in Dallas or Atlanta and there was little to no free time. It was more soft skills training, but could've lived without it.
Discover is a great milestone reward when compared to what other firms are doing (or rather aren't doing). I'm glad I experienced it before coming over to EY.
