Roland Berger is a myth. I’ve yet to actually meet anyone that works there.

According to my friend who worked in their London office the hours were insane - he clocked 70-80+ regularly - never met a single other person who worked for them though

Why not wait and try to get an offer somewhere else

Happy to share more but here’s the down-low: +: Salary & benefits are competitive, bonus range particularly good v. non MBB players, Boston office partners are all really approachable, office is in great location (if that matters anymore), great expense/travel policy (i.e., firm isn’t cheap), international staffing (pre-COVID) -: Long hours (COVID made this worse), very focused on industrials/auto/chemicals, projects can be verrry technical (read as borderline engineering/German methodology to consulting is brutal), getting cross-staffed on projects you have no business being staffed on because the US practice is small

Yup!

No obvious choice here, but depends on what you're looking to do. Life science? ZS. Auto? RB. Due diligence (especially ODD)? Kpmg

What level and experience are you?

Pay is competitive (e.g. 160-170k with 20-40% bonus for Sr Consultant position; can be directly promoted without MBA and receive the same pay). Also, the work isn’t actually mechanical - i would say a lot of my projects had a very tailored methodology for the client/project and required a lot of critical thinking. The “German” roots are more true for our Auto practice maybe - I didn’t experience much of that. I think RB1 was a bit harsh because you can actually have a voice in staffing. Regardless, hours are long and many are expected to take part in firm initiatives outside of project work since it’s small

My parents are likely going to get divorced - I am worried about my dad. I am fairly confident he has anxiety/depression (I struggle with anxiety and we lost cousin on dads side from suicide) and refuses to get help. I don’t know how he will manage when he lives by himself. Has anyone dealt with divorced parents, especially those with mental health issues? I’m only 24, I work 50 hours a week and cannot take care of him. Extended family members are not in the picture.
