Comp question for VC. My firm is fundraising a third fund. I’m not expecting my full bonus this year; I joined in April. At bonus time, I’m thinking about asking my partner if he would match my contribution to the new fund if I dedicated my whole bonus $ to it? So ex. if my bonus is $20k, I take none of it in cash, put $ in the fund, and ideally firm matches another $20k. My reasoning: it’s a deferred comp rather than cash, and I want to show I’m dedicated and plan to stick around. Am I crazy?
I was hired from the federal govt/GS14. I am a Manager in GPS Advisory. I’m 48. Salary went from 129 to 140. Did I make a bad move?

During a interview when asked “why are you looking for new opportunities?", is it bad to answer with “I’m looking for a higher salary” because that’s literally the only reason why I’m looking
I'm a 3rd year audit senior manager in LA and base comp is 200k. Have no idea what peers at other firms are getting. I think I'm somewhere in the middle. Can other SM share where they are at?
Let’s make sure we are on the same page about this: if you’re sharing your salary for flaunting purposes, there’s no need to disguise your flaunt in a long post about a potential decision you have to make. Just flaunt it. Your authenticity will be rewarded.

Feeling ripped off. Make 120k and got a $3500 signing bonus as a Senior Consultant in DC office. 6 YOE in relevant field (not consulting, but in required skill sets). Was naïve as this was my first consulting gig.

Approached by a recruiter from Arthur D Little. Any reviews? What kind of culture/work? How is it considered in the market? Wondering if it would be a step up or step down from Deloitte.
Are exit opps hurt if you switch from B4 to a National firm? I’ve been at EY for a year, but I am not getting literally any exposure to anything else except 1065 compliance for 1 or 2 clients and leadership has refused to budge. I really don’t want to stay in tax forever so a smaller firm with more clients, broader services seems better, no?

Do you have many LGBT friends and do you necessarily care if you do or don’t? I have one gay friend who I catch up with occasionally and I think my husband has two. I never really cared either way about it, however I feel like I’m at that point where you primarily make new friends through existing ones, and they are having children and making other “parent” friends. Between that and living in a SFH neighborhood in the suburbs, I’ve changed my viewpoint over the last few months.
