I have also recently cleared all interview rounds in TCS & HR Shared 'Salary Breakup'. Still, my status in the iBegin portal is not changing from 'Evaluation in Progress' to 'Evaluated' & so on, even after uploading all required documents. They had initiated the process 2 times, 1st on 16th Nov and 2nd on 24th. Please let me know, how long it will take to release the final offer letter. Thanks

The majority of our revenue actually comes from our consulting areas, not our SI branch.
That aside, McKinsey (and BCG) are making a strong push into tech consulting and have been for a while. My understanding is that from an SI perspective a more typical role for them to play is to serve as implementation "coaches" in this area - solution architect is something I haven't seen before from them though
The money in MBB's strat bread and butter is 🥜 compared to the money in tech consulting. I wouldn't go so far as to say they'd become irrelevant if they didn't move into tech, but tech is becoming a larger and larger piece of the pie.
I feel like they come in pre SI
Yeah MBB is hiring downstream from their strat practices. Not going to be Accenture, but they want to capture some if the $$$ of running implementations. They are hiring in these areas at lower TC than their bread and butter MC.
Do you think MBB is still operating like they did in the 90s?

AWS has a bunch of solution architects too, are they trying to become an SI firm? How is pricing a database even SI?

Right, but technology should be at the center of or at the very least a significant part of most modern strategies. That leads into proposing the appropriate initiatives for the client to execute on, which leads into the amount of investment necessary to execute on the proposed initiatives.
By that flow of logic, I can see how even McKinsey could need a solution architect for pricing if they're looking to extend their work down that path.
Rising Star
Look at where GE is vs Amazon.
GE’s foundation was really a success based on its management principles.
Amazon’s foundation and success is based on its software. Google is AI/software, Apple is product-tech, etc. Technology is now the core backbone of the most successful companies so developing those skillsets makes sense.
I’d be surprised if the partnership turns out to be fruitful for large database platforms

You have to understand MBB doesn't want to be an SI. They just want to capture the highest value parts of SI... which often comes down to things like tech due diligence, platform strategy, pricing etc..
