Recommendations for firms to look into in South FL? I'm in Ft. Lauderdale but am open to Boca or Miami. I'm a first year associate in ID (coverage issues) but really would prefer transactional work. Transitioning from com. lit into tax controversy?

I have a tax LLM and started my career out of law school doing M&A tax at a big4. After 9 months, I got out of big4 transactional hell and into whatever litigation I could find. I now practice commercial lit but would welcome the opportunity to eventually transition into tax controversy (which I wasn’t able to do before). Does my commercial litigation “break” hurt my prospect? How long can I stay in com lit without hurting my chances even more?

Recently divorced after 10+ yrs (40M, Denver)... Starting to figure out dating again. What age difference is it too cringe to try to date?... 10 yrs younger ok? If you're low 30'sF us a 40M in play?

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
I mean it's possible that I may receive a merit, but I feel like I won't considering my manager never brought it up & the dept update made it sound like those receiving it should know by now.

I think living a frugal life and aiming to retire early makes a lot of sense.

Recently, some of my family members are diagnosed with a rare diseases. When you look at the statistics, these are so many of these ‘rare’ conditions and cumulatively they are not rare.

These family members conditions made me reevaluate how I want to spend my life. I am 35 this year and I can’t decide if I should take great vacations with my kids or keep living a frugal life. Do you have the same dilemma?
