NYC Council has now banned employers from asking how much you made in your previous job during interviews. Hopefully this should dissuade employers from taking advantage of talent.

Does anyone work for Wipfli or have friends that do? Interested in taking a job offer there and was wondering if anyone had any advice on the company or culture. Thanks in advance!
Starting Salary for Staff 1 in NYC?
Now that networking events are virtual and limited opportunity for face to face meetings - how are new leads being generated besides website traffic. How do you "network" at virtual meetings and presentations?
Currently KPMG Strategy, thinking about moving over to ACN “Strat”. Will be a level up from where I am, KPMG Strategy M to ACN SM, which is a nice bump in pay. Probably would be KPMG D in 2 years, so this accelerates me a bit. Other than the compensation, any reason why NOT to do this? Looking at a 25-30% base pay bump.
got laid off H1B. Software developer and have only 51 more days. What are my options? Anyone hiring ? Even consultancies are not hiring
If you are a management consultant with no hard skills or focus area, what skills would you invest in now (during quarantine) to prep for layoffs or exit opps — in the COVID / post COVID economy?
First resume out of school. Keep it high level? General points to include? Know this is a repeat post but no search function 😑
Have a fat relocation expense that can be used for pretty much anything... suggestions? Already bought an OLED TV, Bose sound system, premium mattress
Has anyone on here interviewed at Deloitte finance and enterprise performance in USDC? If you have, can I please DM you ?
3 years of transaction advisory under my belt. Got a call from a recruiter to see if I would be interested in a placing a CFO position at a 'growth’ company. Scale of 1 to Waste-of-My-Damn-Time?
How do you all approach investments/savings? On OPT now and applying for STEM, hoping for H1B after that. Currently maxing out company match on 401k but not sure if I should look at ETFs or Roth IRA next, or if the implications are any different from citizens if I am not able to stay long-term (I know there is a 10% penalty for taking out funds from 401k early for example).
I had a lot of meetings/interviews with a service line and office I was thinking of transferring. The last time I had a call with a partner was two Fridays ago (10 days). And they told me they’ll discuss and let me know in the next week. I sent a follow up email after my meeting. But haven’t heard anything back. Is it a bad sign? Or should I try reaching out again?
I really want to get out of internal HR and move in to a consulting / advisory position but when I review the job descriptions for many advisory roles I immediately take myself out of applying because I don’t have the consulting experience required for higher levels. Anyone from a consulting firm have advice on how to get my foot in the door? I have 10+ years of HR experience.
Can you start working at another big 4 firm while taking terminal pto at your current one (during 2 week notice period), assuming that you are not on a project?
o9 Solutions as an exit? Anyone have a perspective on the culture, product, growth story, etc to share?
Seems obvious to me yet i still must ask to hear out the trade offs…. Non equity tech MD at a specialty business unit at MBB, or MD at a leading system integrator with public equity and significant total compensation increase? Feels like being a true MD and no second rate citizen status supersedes the MBB brand name if you’re not partner track.
Is it risky to have the same ETFs and index funds in BOTH of my Roth IRA and 401K accounts? Also with the same allocation

Anyone at firms with associate salary increases have any visibility into how it’s affecting counsel pay (or of counsel or special council or whatever you call promotion but to non-partner permanent employee)? Saw Pillsbury had a 7.5% increase, but haven’t seen word from the others.
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.
What's an average salary for a mid level in NYC?
Is it true that Cognizant lays off/fires even the most loyal people just like that by deliberately giving low ratings and by paying 4 months salary up front or is it really only for those worse performing employees?
Should I choose to go into an industry that is “perfect for my background” or into an industry that I am interested in? My background is healthcare/life science but interested in commercial banking. Compensation and job security are my top priorities.
New Hires/College grads who were laid off from IBM GBS in Spring 2018. Where are you today? And how do you feel about IBM now? For context, back then, IBM overhired a significant amount of young professionals and let go a sizable chunk of them. They also almost postponed start dates for the class of 2018 by a year. As a result, IBM has been blacklisted by many universities from OCR.
Why focus on getting promoted to manager before leaving consulting? If you don’t want to be the best at something (I.e. consulting), doesn’t it make sense to make the jump before hand and work your tail off in that new role?
Is your bonus or any part of your comp tied to new biz dev that you pull in? If so, how is that structure setup? Percent of total or Y1 contract value? Specific incentives based on growth targets? I work at a newer agency that is experimenting with new comp structures, so I want to get a sense of what is competitive.
Ord terminal 2 security... what a cluster!
Considering an offer with EY but have a question about something I found out. Ya’ll seriously can’t expense lunch while on the road? Wtf is that about?
We started state testing today with my kiddos taking their FSA Writing. It is the first time I have seen them in school as they are a digital class, and such an amazing experience to see them together as they talked amongst themselves before we went to the classroom to test. You can see how much they miss being together. ❤
