I’m so done with sales. I’m burnt out and uninspired with my job. The pay is nice, but I need something more fulfilling and less stressful. I’ve been frustrated lately because my in-house clients refuse to accept legal interpretations from the legal department. Example: “Hey Senior Counsel, here’s a contract provision—can you tell me what you think this requires us to do?” SC: “Sure. This isn’t ambiguous at all. It requires us to do X.” Business person: “Hmm. I know I’m not a lawyer, but I think it means Y.” Client proceeds to do Y. I’m not even sure why I’m here anymore. Does this happen at your company? How do you cope?

Well here is a new issue I am troubleshooting today. We have an ADA reasonable accommodation request for gluten free cookies at the reception after the holiday talent show for an employee with celiac disease. I think we might be required to grant this request. Employee has the same right to access the benefits of employment with us as everyone else - here that benefit would be baked goods at the reception. I suppose celiac impairs a major life function - eating, and is a disability. Thoughts?

Was laid off mid job search. Do I disclose it when HR screenings have already taken place? I was looking for a new position bc we were acquired and I didn’t like what I saw from new company. (Guess my instincts were right!) I have several round 2s coming up and didn’t know if I should bring up the fact that I’m not with the company or just answer questions as if still employed
