NEW TECHNOLOGY ALERT! I just received a Beta link to try out an upcoming feature in Pipedrive. They added the ability to prospect from their Leads tab digitally. You put in the search criteria, and their search engine will go out and pull in contacts or companies based on your search. From there, you can add the lead to your leads section. The person-based leads I have found thus far have had an email address, phone numbers, and LinkedIn links. Give it a look if you can. It is pretty neat.
What’s a good way to advocate for yourself as an employee? I struggle with how to make the work I’m completing/my efforts sound impactful.
Just venting. I’m tech, and many employees (like 85%) think that being a jerk is a badge of honor and their EQ is like at high school level, so talking to them about diversity issues is like banging head against the wall. They insist that any diversity hire is costing a job to another person with PhD. On top of it, another fancy thing to do in tech is to hate HR. So the conversations usually are like “Oh, you’re in HR, I understand now why you have such a stupid opinion”.
Any advice on how to transition into an HRBP role from an HR Specialist role? I’ve developed these strategic and partnering skills from 6 years of working within the HR specialist realm but I’m having trouble with marketing this in my resume/LinkedIn.
Is your company still expecting you to sell like there isn’t a pandemic going on, or is it just mine?
How do you get evaluated in your role in HR? I run the HR department (if you wanna call it that) at a medium sized startup and the people I answer to have never given any kind of metric or measurement of success. What do/should I use to measure myself?
Do seasoned enterprise reps actually think that MEDDIC helps the sales process? This is coming from the perspective that champions are undervalued and the economic buyer in a F500 company does not usually speak with vendors. The market here is developer tooling. Curious to hear thoughts as many sales leaders use MEDDIC as an inspection tool to manage sales reps with little practical value for deals.
Currently, we're using JazzHR for our ATS and importing new hires in ADP WorkForce Now, our HRIS and where we run payroll. JazzHR has been great, and ADP has mostly been a pain. We're also using Concur for expenses. Just did a demo with Paycom and was generally really pleased, except the ATS which seems really bare bones compared to JazzHR. Is it worth trading the ease and functionality of our standalone ATS to get an all-in-one solution?
Have you ever experienced workplace trauma? If so, how did it impact your personal life and mental health?
I have a question for the sales managers out there. What motivated you to pursue a career change from front line sales to managing a team of sales professionals? I ask, because as I look to the future I am wondering if just staying on the front lines will be more lucrative then entering management.
I am looking for best practices in reducing anxiety in the workplace, especially for remote workers. What are you all doing?
I’ve been tasked right off the bat with implementing Facebook Workplace as an engagement/communication tool. I looked it up and seems fairly easy, especially as a facebook user. But as with anything it can be a challenge to get employees to actually use/check it. So-- does anyone have experience with Facebook Workplace? If so, what are some things that have worked/didn't work for you. Do you like it?
Anyone have experience using Oura Ring to track sleep? Looking at Oura vs Fitbit to track those night were I waking up dreaming about pipeline, clients, things i needed to do, etc.
Recently got hired as an Associate @ GH, I have 3YOE. My salary is in the low 70s. From the people I’ve spoken with, they say I was lowballed. Was I? Trying to figure out if I am being paid fairly
I'm in software sales, and pretty new to it. I like sales, and want a career in it, but I'm wondering what other industries have lucrative sales careers.
My leadership of a startup in California is very anti-COVID restrictions and has recently said that they want to force employees to come into the office, no exceptions, even though our County is still in the highest restriction level. None of our roles require anyone to be in the office to complete their responsibilities. They also don't want to follow guidelines (like masks), but I think they'd be willing to somewhat if they were forcing people in. Anyone have advice here and how you are supporting leadership through this? I don't know of any fines related to bucking the restrictions. I do know about the mandatory reporting implemented by Gov. Newsom, but that's extent of it. How are you handling this at your company?
In NYC, how long do you have to be employed full-time to qualify for unemployment benefits? Recently went FT after being freelance for awhile and probably getting laid off this week 😔
We just moved to MD from DC and our au pair wants to go into DC every weekend Fri-Sun. No exceptions. She would need to take a 40 min metro ride each way. Or we could drive her maybe every other weekend. What would you do? We are worried about covid being in the metro for so long every week.
Not sure whether this was shared before. What are the other consulting companies with Covid related layoffs? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-05-29/deloitte-consulting-ceo-warns-of-about-2-500-job-cuts
About to leave for b school, shooting for a solid mediocre rating this project. Feels good to give no fucks 😇
I filed for GEP here is USA, with my current address in chicago,,got email from Indian Passport Center to setup time with a passport center in India for interview. Is this normal, what went wrong?
Applying via the consortium. How involved do they look for people to be in minority programs/experiences?
Desi women, how much do you spend for self care? I realize that self care is not really a part of desi culture, and most older women I know (including my mom) are aging gracefully with minimal upkeep. If there is upkeep, it’s very natural/Ayurvedic. I’m 30, and I spend $$ for laser, Botox, fillers, lashes, hair care. But now I’m starting to feel guilty and feel like that money could be used better. But I also feel like having a good appearance is important. Can anyone relate?
What are some cons of consistently moving credit card balance to another balance transfer promo card offer? Wrapping up a previous 15month offer and was able to pay off 25%.
Has anyone heard of IBB consulting? It looks like they are small boutique focused on comms & media. I would appreciate any info on the firm
Stuck at the office Windows update not complete My mouse stopped working Feel free to share your day as a haiku
Nothing like a guy going “come hang out with me and my friends” - then finding out it’s just the two of them only
What is the case against State based law around abortion? As (D) Maize Hirono agrees, ACB does not intend to overturn Roe V. Wade. Rather, she wants it to be determined at state levels. presumably, states can restrict whichever elements the residents prefer. What's the case for banning abortion limits at a Federal level? I'm reminded of Gay Marriage, which was done at the state level iirc.
