What are the tldr differences between HR roles, people Operations, and people business partner positions? They all seem similar but I’m curious how y’all characterize them. I’m coming out of a very internal position at a nonprofit and I’m trying to better align my work accomplishments to make sense in more traditional career paths.

Just got on a new project and I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve been asked to lead a group of developers that are older than me and I feel anxious. Leadership has given me full reigns on project planning and managing my team. Didn’t know I would get this role so early as I’ve always been led. I also feel anxious as I’m the only young person on the team. How does one cope?

If I get laid off, I have a previous colleague that started a cybersecurity company. I would love to get involved on the business side of it. Any pointers on skills that are attractive in this realm for a startup? Would be mostly (if not all) federal defense contracting clients. I’m currently in Deloitte’s cyber risk practice but my background and passion is in accounting and finance, and business operations. Graduated in 2017 so still early career.

How is Analytics & Cognitive doing at D? I have an offer and I am not sure if there will be layoffs again. I am on work visa so will be difficult.

Any clue on what to expect in an interview with a managing director at JPMC? I am interviewing for a tech lead position, and this is the first interview after the phone screen. I would appreciate any insights/tips from related experience (depth, culture, etiquette, attire for virtual interview, etc.), and how the positions stack up (MD, ED, VP, etc.).

Can someone tell me if a HRBP III is more senior level than a HRBP I? I’ve never really dealt with those titles so I am a little confused!

Hi everyone! In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

Is it wise to wait for the market to inevitably drop before investing a large sum of money now? Or, should I invest in an ETF now and not worry about it?

2 years out of UG & new to industry recruiting, true that most firms/companies stop interview cohorts during holiday season (End Nov/Dec), or just a myth? 🙄

For folks who’ve done R1/R2 interviews at BCG… how useful did you find the CaseCoach courses? I’m a week out before my R1 and I’m wondering if it’s going to be time we’ll-spent. Would love to hear “ignore this, definitely do that” sorts of advice if possible.
