I’ve been applying for entry level SDR/BDR positions within the tech industry and even sales rep positions wth pharmaceutical companies. I have been finding it difficult so far coming from someone who has a pharmaceutical science degree and has had a lot of experience in labs and recently as a drug analyst, but with 0 experience in sales. Any advice on how I can make my applications stand out (I have emphasized transferable skills).

I've been presented with an offer at Google for a "Google Cloud Data Analytics Sales Specialist" Role. Being that I have prior experience and this role will be based in San Francisco. I wanted to ask my community would be an ideal base salary for this role. So that I may negotiate effectively.

Need some advice, I honestly suck at sales and it’s just something that’s effecting my mental health. I have grit and I bang out a bunch of calls but I’m not seeing any fruits of my labor. My anxiety of getting fired have been through the roof and I honestly just want to do something else but all I have is recruiting exp along with SDR experience but I have. Certifications In Customer success which I actually understand. Just looking for a possible referal for a functional position.

Yall ever see a coworker work a deal and think, "dang I need to up my skills"? I did and now I have work to do.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

ISO guidance: I have an offer for an Executive Recruiter + BDM role (Engineering, construction, architecture, real estate) 100k Base, 225k OTE. I'm also nearing the final interviews with a Series B Startup Real Estate SaaS company as well: AE role, 65k base, 250k OTE. I'm torn as I've wanted to get back into tech sales for a while, but the offer for the Recruiting role speaks volumes. What pertinent variables would you be looking for given the odd times in the world & market? Thanks in advance!

Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.

Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
