If the candidate doesnt finish the case on time during interview, is it a automatic rejection?

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

I get the impression that many are biglaw haters. With some, any attempt at being service minded and asking "have you thought about X, we can help" makes them whine about scope and costs.

One GC I worked with even had on their resume (OP wanted resumes of key employees) as one of their skills "maximizing value of internal and external legal advice while minimizing cost"

I finished my MSN LM to maybe stand out from the large amount of applicants they get. BUT I have no experience in analytics.. so I have a chance? If I get through process and FAANG role makes me an offer they will see I have been at a new job (that I didn’t disclose) for a ~month in the background check, will this hurt me?
