Would 70k over 220k make your life that much better? I'm around 150K in MCOL and have my lifestyle within reason, so I'm more of a fan of having more time and less stress. But if money means a lot to you, go for it.
I have young kids. Literally all they want to do outside of school is hang out with their mom and me. You will want to have enough spare time to enjoy that phase as much as possible, before they hit puberty and start wanting to hang out with their friends instead of with you.
I would take the $220k industry role given you’re in a lower cost of living and have kids. Thats enough salary to be able to fund a decent lifestyle while the job enables you to have more quality time with kids than consulting will.
$70k more per year and less years of life to enjoy it
How does the extra 70k position you from a tax planning perspective? Sure, your gross is higher , but unless partner is the ultimate goal, I would need to run the numbers first

To me, it was when I decided partnership was not for me. With that said, 60 K is significant and it can go up much faster than 220K in industry …if you project this to next 4 years- technically you are up 240 K at least in consulting. That is pretty big.
So only you can determine if WLB equates to that much to you. Or if you can grind for a few years and then exit.
Majority of the extra $ is taxed away - but I’d still take ilthe higher paying role if you were passionate about it

Any other benefits in the industry role like options or equity? Obviously you're not interested in path to partner or does industry role give you experience so you could boomerang back at a higher level? What's career trajectory look like?
Is that worth a few thousand a month?
is the consulting role with Accenture?
Deloitte then?
I would guess you already know what you want (take the industry opp). As a person who has worked both , I’d say the industry role will be better at this time. The bottom line is you have the choice now. Make the decision and don’t worry about “what if” later on. All the best! Be happy.
