Had the same experience with a Virginia ABC store a few years back. Walked in and they had a row of Elmer T Lee’s sitting there for MSRP. Bought all of them. I don’t flip booze, but the spread between the MSRP and secondary market price of those bottles would have bought me a used motorcycle.

I miss the old days.

House flip question

Hey all newbie here. My husband and I are living that Double Income No Kid life wanting to (Financial Independence) Retire Early.

Both in tech in the Bay Area. I’m in Arizona visiting family and am thinking of an investment property. Does anyone have a book/course/video that they personally have used and recommend for flipping houses? I want to do some research there’s a lot of content out there.
Thanks a bunch!

To achieve FIRE, does make sense to continue maxing out retirement accounts and ESPP leaving me with a net takehome of only 12-15% of gross? Or is it wiser to opt for less of the above long-term savings in lieu of real estate, alt. investments, etc. opportunities? Also, at what point should you stop/slow retirement contributions, particularly MBDR, if it ties up so much cash until 65 yo? (Mid-30s, mid-$200s K TC, ~$600K NW, ~$5M FIRE goal)

Need advice!!! My boss told me he was going to accelerate my annual salary and pay 75% of it in 6 months- then reduce my bi weekday pay to the 25% still owed. Will I be taking home less because I’ll be taxed higher in the first 6 months? He’s doing this to accommodate spending requirement of a federal small business grant. That’s seemed “off” too. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
