Anyone know what happens after you pay off mortgage? Not talking about the finance side/closing the account etc. but in terms of Title or anything with the city/county or anything with the law? Does the owner have to take any actions other than just pay the loan off

Have an acquaintance who is a single mom; she purchased a used car 3 mos ago.
