You’d be better of lateraling now
Go now. Be an analyst 3 and get promoted - it’ll make the transition easier than jumping right to associate
Agree go now. You’re right that MBAs come in with 0 experience but they have a specific funnel for them. They will see you as an experienced hire and expect u to perform as such. Going now will ensure you hit associate role with solid experience assuming they make u do analyst for a year
Agree with all other posts - go now.
If you wait a year or two you’ll likely be a manager. Law of diminishing marginal returns is applicable here - you aren’t likely to gain much more relevant experience in the next 2 that you haven’t already gained in your first 4 years of FDD.
Further, you’ll likely make manager next year if you haven’t already and you’ll be less in the weeds and lesser focused on technical, which won’t bode as well for MMIBs looking to hire analyst/associates.
Leave whenever you see the opportunity. Making the jump with big 4 FDD experience is not uncommon.
