Do you guys write cover letters when applying online (aka no referral)? I used to follow that rule and then got bored, but I'm wondering how much difference it really makes these days
Companies trying to force people back to office = record company execs thinking you can get people to buy whole CDs in an era of streaming individual songs. Times have changed. Deal with the reality.
I've been extended 6 times on a project and have been in the same sort of role for about 12 months. I've told the manager I'd like to leave, but I found out I might be extended again..
Would you apply through a diversity recruiting link or an MD referral link assuming you have referrals from both paths?

working for the US firm but left to stay in canada during COVID wfh – I know it’s technically not allowed, but are there legal ramifications if I’m here for awhile? (OPT visa)
Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?
Industry exit - one-pager or two-page? Debate.
Hey guys, I am a St. Stephen’s graduate (2020) looking to shift from my current strategy role to a consultant role. I am also an ISB admit and my MBA starts in 2023 (YLP admit). I would require the help of my fellow fishes to guide me in pursuing such a role in a big brand. Also, does mentioning the ISB admit become a deal breaker of sorts in such job transitions? As I understand no help comes for free, I am willing to share all my Gmat prep materials as well as provide guidance in essays if req
Hey Accenture peeps, how's the wfh policy there before and after covid? When do you expect back to office? And can u get wfh even after work starts normal from office?
I’m in strategy consulting and performing in the middle of the pack, but I honestly think my talents and enjoyment lie in administration. Are there prestigious jobs that would perform this role?
He doesn’t understand the concept of work from home.
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
If your firm has implemented a remote policy in light of COVID-19, please state it including city and whether it’s a mandatory policy or permissive.

Advice from PwC fish needed.. I posted a week ago about an offer for an A1 “experienced associate” from PwC -team is digital assurance transparency. Even tho I thought that sounded off, I ended up accepting. My letter just said Associate @ 68k base. Now I have access to People Path & my job level says A2. So is PwC on a cohort model, or not? Is there anything I can do here? I pushed back hard on the A1 vs A2 thing b4 signing and the recruiter was adamant I would be an A1
Question: what are the chances to get re-hired after a year if you leave your job for 1 year to move to a different country to take care of your spouse who is having mental health problems? My husband works abroad and with the travel ban he is unable to come to UK. He needs me over there but my company doesn’t have an office in his country with roles open. And I’m not fluent in the local language.
Anyone from AP can tell me the difference between an SVP and Director, beyond comp? And how fast can you get promoted to Director?

New fish looking for career guidance. I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation. I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm. Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?
What’s the difference between MBB and Deloitte? For example, at Deloitte I’ve done 5 tech implementations/transformations. Is MBB mostly strategy and more interaction with client and their c suites?

I know junior associates feel the pain of being micromanaged and told exactly what to do all the time, but honestly, enjoy it while it lasts. It’s a whole new kind of pain when the partner ignores all your emails, never forwards you or copies you to keep you in the loop, never tells you what to do, and still gets mad at you when you are “behind”, or “get it wrong” or ask client/other side for something that partner got 3 weeks ago but never forwarded to you. 😂😭
Currently considering offers from 2 big 4 firms for entry level audit opportunities. I’m a bit concerned about the burn out that everybody’s talking about in PA. Any advice on how to avoid it or at least minimize the effects?

Crossposting from Immigration Attorneys: I’ve been practicing for 4 years, but new to the immigration practice. I recently submitted an I-129 for 15 H-2B landscape workers. I knew the deadline to beat the cap count would be close, but I convinced the client that we could take the chance. Unfortunately, the cap count was reached after we submitted, so no approval. Is there any other avenue to bring over those workers or is he screwed?
