Psst: Dougie baby. The first amendment only applies to public spaces, not private ones. You are free to say whatever you want on your own damn website if you want to cover the hosting costs yourself. Or 4chan, or Truth Social. And there is a way "to involve lawyers" - feel free to hire one willing to take you for a ride for awhile to come right back to square one: private platforms get to choose what's acceptable and what's not, mmmmkay?

P1 - content "neutrality" is being fought tooth and nail by the lobbyists for tech companies/social media companies because they are - wait for it - advertising driven. They make money from advertisers to deliver ads to their user base, in the same way broadcast networks do. I'm not sure any broad based social media platform can exist without some guidelines and policies re: what kinds of speech can take place on them when advertising dollars and eyeballs are the play. Lookit what poor old Elon is going through on TwitX - he eliminates policing and moderation on the platform, hate speech of all kinds starts to become more widespread, advertisers flee (and he throws a temper tantrum). So you can cite all of the legislation you want, but these platforms are not publicly funded civic squares where anyone can say what they want. So trying to legislate something like that into existence by attempting to put laws around these private, advertising business models just isn't going to work.
Sounds like Doug has a decent point buried in there. Our veterans rely on each other for support way more than they can rely on the government. But, we’re coming up on a big election, so maybe they’ll matter for a few months.

It shouldn't have to be a choice tho - we are supposed to be this dominant super power of a nation, one would think we could do several things effectively at once, including treating migrants in a caring, humane fashion, as well as meeting the needs of our veterans. We spent how many trillions in Iraq and Afghanistan and have what exactly to show for it, other than a bunch of war profiteers like Halliburton making out like bandits. The VA actually does a pretty good job once vets can get the access they need for services, but getting said access is and has been a flustercluck for way, way too long. And it isn't like it's a funding issue, it's a failure of leadership and operational acumen IMO. Not pursuing foreign wars and creating even more veterans wouldn't be a bad idea either...
I love how you can tell this is peak boomer, from "quotes around random phrases"....to....ellipses because they've been trained....to not use punctuation....to end things.
