About to start studying for the CFE. On the pre assessment I had passing scores (greater than 75%) for all the sections besides law (72). Is the pre assessment a good representation of knowledge for the actual exam? And do I need to study as much as the ACFE guides recommend?

For me 50% of the exam were the exact same questions as the prep stuff, 25% were nearly identical as the prep stuff, and 25% was brand new. If you can pass the practice stuff, you can pass the real thing.

Thank you for the insight!

Agreed. Took the exams very recently. For Financial Transactions, all I did was the practice test. For the other three, I did all review questions once. The other three exams that I actually did the review for were obviously easier, but I passed all four within one week.

Heads up that the exam just changed to the 2022 version and apparently includes international components now.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?

For the CFE, did you do anything in addition to the ACFE prep course? The course is just practice questions, so I’m wondering where I can actually learn the information first before that.
