I have some doubt regarding pf contribution... Say for example.. 12% of my base salary is 600 which gets deducted from my salary.. on the flip side.. the company has to contribute 600 to my pf (which is actually deducted from my salary only like already part of CTC)?. So my question again is that.. the company contributes 600 as well? PwC

Push out start date? Usually they are flexible.

Agreed with P1, absolutely do not moonlight
From my time at mck - they will not pay a full year bonus. Best to push your start date.
It's never too late to bring it up, ask them to increase your sign on based on this
Sounds tricky as you’ve already accepted. I would find a reason to negotiate a later start date. Lie if you have to.

Keep both jobs??

No one at MBB has time to work a second full time job. Especially in the first few months, you have zero schedule predictability and can be asked to work an 80 hour week with no notice.
You also sign an agreement when you onboard saying you’ll get the firm’s authorization before taking on any outside employment. This is almost entirely about managing legal and reputational risk for the firm — they don’t want any inadvertent conflicts of interest, or leaks of confidential client information.
There are jobs where you can do two and fly under the radar. Being new at McK is not one of them. This is a plan that gets you fired from both jobs.
I would push start date.. pipeline is better in March usually anyway
Push the start date. But do try to start with an intake. Much nicer to have a cohort with you.
Just email recruiters and say you were wondering when the next start dates would be if you deferred for a break between roles given that mckinsey is likely to be both demanding and a steep learning curve.
Push the start date out if possible
Thanks everyone. They said the prefer for me to start sooner instead of pushing out the date, so I’m trying to avoid rocking the boat too much.
Makes sense, thank you!
Ask the push out your start date. Companies are usually understanding of that as long as it’s not something like 9 months away.
