Would not take anything less on salary beyond the difference in state/local taxes. Part of moving out of NYC is to improve quality of life and how far your $ goes. Neither of those will improve if you take less $.
In Seattle I think you would actually make an increase. I could be wrong.
the job market in Boulder is ridiculously tight (Denver is bad but not as). amazing quality of life and too many people priced out/tired of the bay area. that's to say - not a lot of jobs and an expensive housing market.
Move to Seattle! They're having a hiring boom thanks to Amazon, Microsoft, T-Mobile and a hot startup scene. Even the agencies are offering more money than I was getting in NYC because of the lack of talent. Supply & demand 💸
Depends if you're planning to buy a house in either of those markets
I've found that the agency salary margin between Denver and NYC isn't as large as you'd think.
