Hi Fishes,
I am at a career standpoint where i am really confused what to do.
I have 4+ yoe in RPA .I really dont think its sustainable as a career .I am willing to learn and move into something different.
But what i am really confused is how would i manage to switch jobs without any prior experience?
I already earn 13-15 lpa,why would anyone offer me same level of package without experience?
People who do a successful career switch, please share your stories. In need of some motivation

PE kids are ultra wealthy to begin with. Stanford has a clear bias towards PE from certain firms. Wharton just like rich people.
FYI I am aYRM woman from a developing country and moved to NY after college. Yes, upper class kids will do anything to get into the right schools. I have also volunteered in NY with Finance people and there us a very clear banking/consulting/pe volunteer group which is a pipeline to H/S/W.
Most mega funds or top MM funds have one or two partners that each went to H/S that are big donors and are the main points of contact for the two schools. These partners will go to bat for and write the recommendations for their associates that are applying and know each of them quite well (class sizes are small; maybe 5 per year at most will apply for an MBA, that number going down because some associates will get the accelerated promote and would rather take that than go to b school). If H/S screws the firm then the partners won't donate in the future.
Compare that to MBB where there's a much larger pool of applicants. Partners are a lot less hands on in the recommendation process and know it's impossible that everyone applying from their firm is going to get in.
No problem at all, and yep understand your view as well. I wish what you described is how it actually worked for us lol

Yes if you work at a good fund

Is that a surprise? Why would you expect a different answer lol
Makes sense given that PE is often a desirable exit from MBB
(Caveat: you don’t have the denominator here, so it theoretically could be that more PE people apply. Might be true for Wharton but unlikely for the others)
