I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.
Should I take this delay as rejection?

I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?
What are my chances of negotiating into a VP level role with at-least 155k?

It's definitely something to be thoughtful and cautious about, but I wouldn't get so doom and gloom. I feel like there are going to have to be solutions in order to keep people employed in spite of all the AI developments. We are a resilient species and we will figure out how to make AI work for us, or else we will have to figure out other alternatives to keep people earning a living. But we won't be destitute.
in short? Yes, you probably did. Some software engineers and people in tech will rise to the top and hold onto their jobs longer, but company’s are working hard for place software engineers with AI. I advise you to up skill and learn AI skills and development that will make you irreplaceable. Don’t stop your education now.
Congrats!
