After years of tax seasons, late nights, and weekends spent buried in spreadsheets, I'm officially done with the accounting grind. The money's good, but my mental and physical health are paying the price.

I'm craving a career with a more reasonable work-life balance, but I still want to leverage my financial skills. Anyone here successfully escaped the accounting hamster wheel for a job with better hours and less stress? What industries or roles did you transition into? Any specific positions you'd recommend?

7 year lawyer here. Been with the same big national firm all 7 years (not BigLaw) doing complex litigation. Been working remote a long time due to moving around for wife’s job. As a result of the moving was bumped off partner track. I’m looking at a great small firm that will be a practice change (but still litigation).
