Almost 6 months ago, I planned a trip for next month, where I'd be working remotely for the entire time. At the beginning of this year, we had a lot of shifts, including leadership, and they're super hellbent on in-office working. If you were me, would you still do the month-long trip or cancel it? I can't afford to lose my job.

Decades from now, you’ll remember the trip. You won’t remember the job. Just go live your life. It’ll be fine.

But he'll also remember that he lost his job to this trip. Just being funny, I agree with you

Your gut seems to be telling you this trip could put your job in jeopardy given recent management changes. Times are definitely changing when it comes to remote work. I’d suggest trusting your gut. You will likely be anxious the entire time anyway. Lots of people will probably tell you that it’s BS that your company would hold this trip against you and you should still go, but those people won’t be around to help you pay your rent if things go south. Trust your instincts.

like

Cancel if you can. Or use vacation time if you can’t.

like

It depends. Had you already notified your supervisor about the trip? If so, reminding your new one and getting prior approval would be helpful. If not, then ask but be prepared to adjust your plans.

Can you use your vacation days for it

If you’re gonna be anxious and worried the entire time then I would reschedule. I would def raise it. It should already be on everyone’s calendar. Maybe, you can shorten it to two weeks instead.

2 weeks (10 days pto) and 10 days onsite. Doing this in May.

Reposting an edited note that violated community guidelines because I used a naughty word to express my feelings about RTO. I keep forgetting to use grawlixes.

N of 1: Let them know you are ready and willing to cancel, but hope to keep your plans. Express utter confidence in your ability to work remotely, and reinforce that this is the last time you will do so, as you understand how important RTO is to the agency vision. Essentially, engage them in a good faith conversation and be flexible either way.

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!

Where are all the proper ACDs at? Either it's senior/mid creatives who have been promoted too early or ACDs who did the job for a year and are now freelancing as creative directors.

So look, not trying to be a dick here, but legit, why do people who live in nyc always give off the vibe that they’re so proud of themselves? Like they’ve accomplishing something just by being there. I’ve lived in huge American cities before but never felt compelled to aggressively pat myself on the back just for signing an overpriced lease. It’s a great place and all, don’t get me wrong, no need to get defensive, but come oooooon, really? Just curios that’s all :)
