You aren’t nuts. How rare is the vintage model you’re looking at? Would you be happy with a different option? I’d consider paying down the student debt so you can be officially debt-free before buying the bag. But it sounds like you’re budgeting thoughtfully in general, and if the purchase fits within your current planning then go for it.
Thanks! I’m not sure how objectively rare it is but it checks all my boxes and I haven’t seen one exactly like it for sale before! My student loan debt has a super low interest rate from refinancing, so I have been paying the minimum and investing instead of paying it off sooner!
Since you asked for an honest opinion...
It's definitely insane if you have debt and no savings, or no debt and no/low savings. Luxury is luxury only if you can truly afford it - otherwise it's silly.
Go on a memorable trip some place and when you are back, think about what is important in life.
From experience, I guarantee you that there will be many more dream bags you'll have to have.
I assume you are very young (judging by your job title) - keep in mind that interests change with age and you may regret the splurge.

Totally agree with EY1 - I’m kind of like, let ppl spend money on what they want to 🥶 all this premium on experiences vs “material goods” feels misplaced
Well I did it! I had been wanting something special to commemorate a big year for me (1 year since I quit drinking) and I was able to finance it at 3 months/0% interest! It’s from 1968, black with gold hardware, and in very good condition. So excited! Planning on no extra purchases for a while!
OP, bababebi is 100% the best in the game when it comes to authenticating Hermes. I won’t consider buying pre-loved unless she authenticates it.
Obsessed!! It’s even more beautiful in real life!
Stunning bag! Congrats!
See if you can open credit cards with 0 intro APR to help with either big expenses.
I can’t opine on whether you should get the bag though. Only you know how much you love something. It may seem to be an overly expensive purchase, but you love it most and spend less than average on other things, then it’s fine. For example, I have a few Hermès bags, but I absolutely spend much less than average on going out.
Hah appreciate the therapy suggestion! Have been in therapy for several years and it’s a wonderful thing ☺️
Just get the bag. Hold off on discretionary expenses for 2/3 months.

Not sure how to advise but can you post a pic after you’ve decided? So curious to see it!
If you know you have other large expenses coming up I’d hold off
Less than 10k is a good deal for a Constance. Jump on it before someone else does.
Sounds like you know what you’re doing and also deserve it. Get it

Wait you can get a new constance for 10k why buy used?

if you really like the vintage style go for it! As for jumping through hoops for a new bag, it is actually pretty easy if you go to either Vegas or Hawaii (in case if you’re planning a trip). I’ve seen many people get a constance for buying other things at just a 0.3 proportion (so spending 0.3x the constance bag price on other things and the SA will come out to you with that bag) for classic colors. This would work out if you are willing to buy a pair of shoes and maybe a bit of jewelry
I was able to get a picotin in Hawaii with no purchase history and no additional purchases but constance is def harder
