There’s no “we” in “interview”.
Don’t make the mistake of attributing your accomplishments to “we” when you’re interviewing.
Celebrate your achievements big and small.
It shows confidence and awareness of the value you bring.
Acknowledge the support of a great team, and take credit for your contributions and successes.
The interviewer wants to know what you can do.
Don’t be afraid to tell your story.
No one else is going to do it for you.

Used properly, it can be incredibly effective and efficient. Use it on the wrong project or with a program not committed to the process, and you’re setting yourself up for...
A change order. 🙃

MAKE WATERFALL GREAT AGAIN!!!

Too soon @PWC.... too soon.
Curious what specific issues triggered this thought. Happy to help try to solve those challenges!

Im on a team swearing were agile and were waterfall af lol i hate everything about it
A lot this thread is talking about “Agile not done right” but it’s also not always applicable...when requirements and end goals are well understood, Agile is an expensive bloated approach, revert to waterfall
It’s not an “A or B”, it’s when you use / degree to which you use each
Look it up. Nasa has been transitioning to Agile delivery for a while.
If your project has a fixed delivery deadline with fixed milestone dates in between then just because you are using an Agile process it does not make it an Agile project.
Agile is just a scam to have daily status meetings in morning to make sure team is everyday working hard
Been enjoying reading everyone's responses, and agree with the group that says it's a state of being not a framework.
My take... it's all about communication. If everyone understands and buys in to the message from leadership, it doesn't matter how the work gets done. You could turn your backlog into a Gantt chart if you wanted, the information is in there. You could break your project plan down into smaller iterations, changing the plan as new information becomes available. You can hold 4+ hour torture sessions or 15 minute daily stand-ups. Teams have been effective in these ways and more.
What makes things hard is a command and control culture. If leadership insists on making every decision, it's hard to be agile. But traditional project management isn't much better in that environment either. Kind of makes you wonder... if you don't trust people to do the job, why did you hire them in the first place?
Agile is great for large scale programs and when you’re dedicated to forming an organization into agile roles. It’s awful for one off projects because it takes time to improve efficiency. Once you get going it’s great, but too many people try to shove it into a 3 month project.
Done right agile is hands off. Setting unachievable deadlines on a weekly basis isn’t agile, it’s dumb
Agile is a buzz word for micro management

Hey agile mean you look busy
Agile means you keep yourself busy
All of you are missing the point. Agile is something our clients heard companies like Amazon did.
They definitely don’t know how to do it.
We sort of know how to sound like we know how to do it.
And there’s a sale ready made.
So many factors as to how Agile can suck. It does need a lot of commitment from top to bottom level of the org to make it happen. If you're adapting agile because of trend, youre looking at a lot of $$$ wasted. But oh man, if implemented properly, it makes you hate Mondays less. 😂

Can someone tell me what agile is
Search for “Agile manifesto” on google to give you an initial understanding. Agile is an “umbrella” term so this is not one thing or one way to deliver.
In a nutshell, Agile is a delivery mindset, not a tool nor a framework.
Find something else more interesting that doesn’t suck‼️
Life is too short‼️
It does not sucks if implemented the right way. But people only take half of what looks advantages to them but ignore what does not suits them. Like you cannot have a must to be done scope for a quarter and push the team to do more. Plus it was developed for product companies where they take what they can do and move the remaining for backlog. In service companies the client requires a scope to be completed. So if your client or project follows it in right spirits then it works well. Also, dev ops is must for Agile.
I work in ERP implementations. Agile may be OK if you are talking about developing a website or some cloud service but there are all kinds of other types of projects that Agile is being forced on us that has no business being used on. ERP projects don't have incremental releases into production. ERP implementations can take years before anything makes it to something called live production. Waterfall is the only sane way to do an ERP implementation and waterfall has worked for me for over 2 decades of successful projects. With Agile I am seeing a train wreck
Agile is a culture, mindset, and a set of principles. Agile Methodologies add specific procedures to give it a structure. You compare Agile to a religion.
Just like any religion, the purpose of Agile to bring the good and help people live/perform better. Just like every religion, it has been taken over by the some type of extremists and ruined the original purpose, to their benefit.
Try to focus on the difference between faith and church.
You ok?
So everyone how do you make agile work in a revenue centric environment or the federal government?
Chief
I don’t know what “revenue centric” means or why you think it’s unique. You drive adoption, have champions, and implement agile practices. There isn’t some kind of magic to it.
Why you are frustrated with delivery . Agile is about how you spend the day and if any blockers . As long as you have directions for those then do it other wise complain in retro and see if you can adapt in planning . Rinse and repeat . Enjoy the ride . Don’t worry about deadlines because agile has no deadlines , that’s the best part .
Are you not a consultant?? Have you ever seen a SOW contract without delivery deadline dates? I know I have never seen one and have been on more than one "agile" project.
