I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). Just got the call from a recruiter that they won’t be moving forward with my application after reviewing my take-home writing assignment. I was very proud of what I submitted, and know it was great quality and up to industry standards given I review/write this type of document quite frequently. They gave me good feedback on it, and I have it in the back of my mind that they are using applicants from consulting as free labor. Anyone else feel this way about interview take-home assignments??
