Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?

Suit jacket and tie, commando below.
I wouldn’t wear a tie anymore personally but do whatever makes you feel more comfortable
Wear the same thing you would for an in office interview, so suit and tie.
Better to be over dressed from the top up than under dressed. First impressions can make or break u
This! As someone who frequently conducts virtual interviews for a top 10 firm - I'm generally pretty laid back, but I expect you to act like you want the job. Doing something simple like wearing a suit to an interview tells me you care. Same reason I still put on a suit jacket when I'm presenting at virtual board meetings for clients. I may have pajama pants on too - and they may all be business casual on their computers - but they pay my firm a lot of money for a service and it's a no brainer to show up looking the part.
Buck naked- make a statement
Just the spelling
Camera off. So wear what you want.

As someone that interviews I appreciate a jacket and a tie because you lose a lot with a virtual interview, and it’s one easy thing you can do to put up a professional face during the call. That’s just me tho
Thanks. Do you think suit and tie is still necessary in today’s dress code? I’m great with having to wear one but don’t want to be overdressed
Better to be overdressed than under for an interview.
A shirt will do because I have never worn a suit
I wore a suit
