I’m guessing you’re asking about Disputes & Investigations specifically rather than the whole firm.

We do all kinds of things. Forensic accounting, damages, valuations, fraud investigations, cyber risk, international arbitration, AML, mass torts, construction damages,

Don’t think anyone is really working on insurance claims. Atleast not that I’ve heard of.

Would you know if the D&I group has any people that have come from the insurance claims segment? Or would the preference be to have other forensic accounting experience?

A&M2 more or less summed it up. I’d also add economic consulting, bankruptcy and general litigation support, intellectual property consulting, real estate & environmental disputes, class actions, reps & warranties, FCPA and various other corporate investigations, monitorships, business intelligence, eDiscovery, data analytics, and forensic technology to the equation.

Never heard of anyone doing insurance claims other than maybe as one-off favors to clients perhaps

The firm is involved all kinds of investigations that wind up in front of DOJ, SEC, and CFTC. That includes fcpa, false financial statements, market manipulation, and good old fashioned fraud. We don’t do insurance claims work in our investigations practice.

I feel like I am very naive and cannot read between the lines, so I can’t tell if someone is trying to fuck me over or not. This leads me to be extremely skeptical of others’ intentions, and makes me less confident that I can influence others, and in general really erodes my self-confidence. Does anyone else feel similarly? If so, how have you dealt with it?

Hi All,
I am feeling lost in job. So I’ve applied for Accounts payable they offered 40k. I said why not to gain some experience. I didn’t even bother negotiating which I regret.
Fast forward I noticed that I was eventually handed everyone’s workload (AR & imports & duty and check coworker work + AP) Spoke to them about pay increase based on workload. So they raised it to 55k.. but I still feel underpaid based on the amt of work I do. I don’t know what my title or what to put on resume..

I am an Audit S1 that wants to work in a B4 Forensics practice. Would it be best for me to accept an offer in Forensics at a much smaller firm (local, 150ish total employees) to gain experience and then try to move to B4 Forensics? Or should I stay in Audit and wait for B4 Forensics positions to open up? Please let me know your thoughts!

I accepted a new job, they said PTO was “generous.” I find out it’s 19 days a year of PTO (which includes sick days). I have two young children and we like to vacation 1-2x a year (no more than a few days away each time). Am I crazy that this is pretty limited time off? 8 of the normal holidays off during the year (working the week between Christmas and NYE). Thoughts? I dont know if lack of PTO is a good reason to back out, is it?
