Why do strategy consultants at BCG work 14 hour days? What is the discrepancy between MBB and Big 4 that accounts for such a high burn environment? Are projects staffed ultra-lean in MBB? Is the MBB methodology so much more rigorous than Big4’s?
Do mid tier firms pay more than B4?
Hey guys, I am currently an A2 in audit at a Big 4 Firm. I am looking to switch into FDD. Can anybody refer me?
McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Oliver Wyman McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company MBB, Big 4 ANZ fishes, is the public sector work significant in the region? Who are some of the key spenders? What kind of work should I expect?
I'm a CPA with public (big 4 financial services) and industry experience (tech). I'm looking to re-locate to the Southern California to be near my wife’s family. Do you know of any opportunities?
Would it be a lot harder to move back to MBB/T2 firms if i exit to Big 4 (not Strategy&, monitor etc.) or relatively unknown industry positions?
Hi all, right now I have a summer internship at a mid tier firm for this summer 2021. How is the switch from going from a mid tier internship and to getting a big 4 job offer? I think I would definitely like to work at a big 4, I graduate in 2022.
Why is comp shrouded in mystery at B4? Trying to figure out where I am on the totem pole. I’m a 6th year tech partner making 800k. Where are you?

I currently work at a big 4 firm as Management Consultant (largely Oil and Energy SL) and have around 1.5 YOE. How long should I wait to apply into MBBK? C CTC: 15LPA
I did my MBA from a non-target college (new IIM). Is it possible to get a Consultant role in MBB now or should I get more experience in here?
I got an offer for a Healthcare risk management role. I'm a BA but this role is more like an SC level. The salary jump is 50% more than what I'm making.
However the company is really tiny. Nobody has ever heard of it, and it's not a startup so I doubt there'll be any growth.
Do you think it's worth making the jump? I was only at Deloitte for 9 months.
Also do you think I have the possibility of returning to B4 or ever going to FAANG in the future?
Im a MBA holder and currently pursuing CISA. It's been awhile since I have started to have high interest in pursuing a career as IT auditor. Anybody here would like to refer me into any Big 4, very open for entry positions.
Are all the job in consulting in Germany basically Management jobs? As far i saw (in big 4) all the devs are outsourced. Is it true?

Somedays I feel that I will learn everything, work harder than anyone else. I will keep growing.
Other days I feel like, bc boht ho gya... zindagi me araam chahiye ..
I am constantly stuck between the two.
P.S when the time demanded, I worked my ass off, even 16-18 hours a day for upskilling. It paid off.
But now I am always going back and forth with these thoughts.
I’m happy to say I just accepted a role as ux researcher. But I didn’t negotiate the salary because I didn’t want to risk anything. I really want to gain the experience with this company and grow. My question is, how do I work on strategically planning to ask for a 20-30k raise after my first annual performance? ( The range is in their budget for the role)
I just don't want to go to Ohio anymore 😩

If you’re approved for receiving unemployment, is this something prospective employers will see that you’re collecting? I ask because I was let go while in the process of interviewing at Deloitte
Pumping moms!! I’m going to be on set all day Monday (7:30am - 6pm) and somehow am just realizing I’m going to need to pump! Any tips for making this easier/not insanely awkward?

Before moving in with my boyfriend I had mentioned that I had couple of months left on my lease and that I couldn’t break it. He said “of course I wouldn’t expect you to pay for rent while you still have your lease going in”. 2 days ago we had a conversation about expenses and it turns out he wants me to pay for rent. I brought our previous convo but he doesn’t remember. We had a big fight because of it and now we aren’t talking (con’t)
Filling out new hire paperwork. The form has a question which asks if the new firm can contact my present firm. Present firm obviously doesn’t know I got an offer. This is the first time I’m seeing this kind of a question. How do folks usually deal with this?

I have an intro call with a VP hiring for a brand director role. What might be the most common or hardest question a VP may ask for such a role? I’ve only held senior marketing roles and am about 10 years of experience. They sought me out (probably due to my last few years at agencies) or otherwise I wouldn’t have thought I’d qualify for such a title.

What are some key ways you balance stress and not taking it out on others/family? It's something I'm always working on but none of us are perfect. That said, I've made vast improvements. During the winter it's always harder as I feel many of my outlets are limited [like golf etc]
Work in tax, moved to a new state a number of years ago and didn't transfer my CPA license. Got a partner offer from a top six firm in my new state. Can I become a partner before I transfer my license to my new state?

I started a firm with three other colleagues about a year and a half ago. We all came from the same bigger firm and now obviously we are considered a very small. We want to make our first hire and hire someone for around $100,000 as a manager to manage around $200,000 of work. They came back at $120,000. After taxes and benefits that’s $150k to manage and prepare $200k of work. Anyone own a smaller firm who can share opinion? How much work should one manage for that kind of salary?

Any firms that use CCH make sure your invoices are being checked carefully. We just reviewed ours and were over-billed the last 2 years. We were supposed to have discounts and the math wasn’t even correct across for the amount times the discount to the amount billed. The worst part is our rep then gave a bullshit story of how the list price was incorrect on the invoice but the amount billed was correct.
Where are all the accounting professionals going? Competitive pay and benefits aren’t enticing enough. People want work/life balance but how can firms provide that when the workforce supply is so low yet demand is at an all-time high. If technology is the answer are there firms that are successfully implementing solutions?
How does leaving a cpa firm partnership work? I have no next role set up but feel like it might be best to give notice and start the process now. Thanks for any advice.
What do other partners take as unreimbursed partnership expenses? I have heard some say they do nothing (because it isn’t addressed in the partnership agreement) but others say they take quite a bit (if there is an expense policy manual that disallows it). My read of the law is the latter is the correct read.
2nd year partner at a top 6 accounting firm. Have offer from big 4 for $200K more annually. Don’t really want to take it, but how can I not.? That’s approx a college education annually after tax. Should I try to negotiate or just take the money and jump ship. Feeling Seriously undervalued for what I’m bringing to the firm in terms of people building, sales, book of business. Hate to not be loyal, but $200K is $200K. Advice please
No judgment tax question. Would a covered deck extension and repair to be used for work purposes (home office) be classified a deductible business expense? Need guidance.
We are essentially an outsourced controller for our largest client. The owner is taking MASSIVE amounts of distributions over and above income. He’s essentially financed $1M in distributions from his LOC. We have spoken to him multiple times about this and the behavior never stops. What would you do here? Fire your largest client? Do you feel your reputation would be affected when this behavior comes to light? Inevitably it will when he bankrupts the company one day.
