I had a first interview last Tuesday with Amazon, which I think went well, although I still haven't heard back 6 days later and then got an OOO annual leave msg and a no response when I chased up the named colleague today. Is this typical behaviour others have experienced when dealing with the big tech company recruiters? I found Google and Facebook recruiters to be efficient and TikTok so-so, if not a little slow, but 6 days+ seems poor.

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Now I’m having anxiety searching for a job. I don’t think I want to sell anymore yet every single recruiter I interview with says I should, that I have a “salesperson mentality”. I’m burnt out. I am wanting to go into consulting. How can I use my experience in industry as an advantage to get into consulting? I had a few interviews with a firm, but I mentioned that I provided some efficiency solutions in my career, got a six sigma black belt, and analyze data to provide solutions on a daily basis in my current role.
After my 3rd chat with the firm, I have not heard back.
