Any Cost saving tips for Las Vegas?

If you're trying to have fun without getting ripped off, Vegas is not for you.

Food, alcohol, and gambling are obviously the big three.

Food: most of the hotels have budget options, but there are two types of budget options: those worth eating at and those that aren’t. If you're looking to save on food, a little pre trip Google maps/ Yelp research goes a long way. I save a $, $$, and $$$ at each property before I go.

Booze: you can drink in your room, I usually get a few bottle of champagne and a bottle of whisky at CVS when I get there. Miss me with the "off strip liquor stores are cheaper", you've got to take a cab to them, I can walk to CVS. Even one or two drinks in the room will save you some and it's perfectly enjoyable.

Gambling: only play want you can lose, set loss limits and win limits before you sit, and get up when you hit them, no if ands or buts. But: my primary tip is plan a day that has nothing to do with gambling, go to Red rock and hike, even the beginner trails are great. Go see the lion sanctuary south of the strip, or seven magic mountain, or go to Dig It and drive a tractor around, or go drive a car around the track, or see a hockey game. You'll have fun and get something for it too. There's plenty to do around.

God speed and have fun

I’m a Vegas local. Best way to save money is to come here during the week (Monday to Wednesday). Rooms and table limits are higher Thursday to Sunday. While here, downtown (old Vegas) is a bit cheaper than the strip. For food, use Yelp and Uber away from the strip. The price of food is marked up on the strip because it’s a price of convenience model.

Maybe stay on points somewhere. But would recommend not going off the strip

Np. Would depend on where you have loyalty, but Marriott has the Westin and Cosmo on the strip and I know other big brands have options. Points guy or someone via a google search can guide you.

Stay with a friend who lives there :)

Go to happy hour and late night happy hour. That way you can still eat at some of the best spots too. Look up those menus in advance to see the hours/app selection. Also use the free shuttle that runs through about half the strip. So many people don’t know it exists. Stay centrally if you can. The Linq is a good central location for the Strip and Ferris wheel is fun. Mandalay Bay has really nice rooms and one of the best pools including a lazy river (and it’s for hotel guests only). Second getting some champagne at a store.

Join the rewards programs for the casinos. Simply being a member can get you access to free or cheap rooms. Plop down that card if gambling or dining while on-site to track spend and earn comps.

Look into Founder's Card membership. You can usually join for around $295. They used to have a benefit that gets you Diamond status at Caesars. Diamond status usually gets you additional benefits like free rooms, waived resort fees, annual dining credit of $100, 2 complementary tickets to a show per month. Having Diamond status also usually allows you to skip lines for checking in as there is usually a separate check-in lounge. Shorter lines for buffets, casino cashier, and taxi lines. Was able to get waived cover for a group of guys at Voodoo rooftop club at Rio. Diamond status also seemed to be the key to visiting other Caesar's properties for their pools when not a guest. Also a expedited entrance at the Flamingo Pool.

Get a res at din tai fung! So good and prices aren’t too crazy

Yeah...don’t go. It always sucks the life out of me. Seriously, stay off the strip in nearby hotels. Set a max amount to gamble and try to enjoy some of the free activities like the pool or people watching

Currently 25 y/o making 70k/year in Boston. I grew up pretty poor and I have minimal financial education. A lot of my salary now goes towards helping my parents get out of debt. My parents are no longer able to live on their own, so considering selling my grandmas house where they live (maybe 550k), paying off their mortgage (100k) and buying a duplex (between them they make about 55k/year). Is buying a two family home a good investment ? How much can I afford to spend on a new house?

Hi fishes welcome to the bowl.

Does anyone else feels like the job market today is like the 2013 Real Estate Market? It is a buyer’s market. It’s saturated with jobs, but no one wants to work. And recruits are not taking advantage of the ones who want to work.

The cycle repeats. #thirstythursdays

The other positions don’t interest me as much. Question on UK visa-
My partner will be traveling often to London, once a month for an year starting September. He is getting his visa through work (10 years, multiple entry, 6 months max stay, cost some $1000).

I have applied for standard tourist visa in the past and they are usually short term. It could be max 6 months, but they see your itinerary and allocate you few months around the itinerary

Is there a way to get 6 months multiple entry visa, if I were to join him once in a while.
