Any financial recommendations or adjustments based on the below info and picture? Married couple in early 30s (31&33) living in HCOL city with current total income between $300-325k without any kids (likely in the next 1-2 years), and we are saving around 38% of income so thinking to increase cash savings and paying off car loan with higher expected costs of children. TIA!

You are double counting your cash. It’s in investments and liquid cash

Had the same thought.

I’d pay off the car loan ASAP given the interest rate on it - then roll the money that would otherwise go against the car loans against the student loans

Hahahah same 😂😂😂

Assuming your investments are non-retirement, use your investments and available cash to pay off all non-mortgage debt. Or spend the next 12-18 months paying it all off out of your income that you’re already putting away. Kids can be expensive. But kids with dedicated monthly payments just compounds those challenges. Free up your income. Then you have your entire income to invest toward wealth building and eventual retirement.

Is one of your properties cash flowing?

Why do you have two houses?

Is there a hard limit on how frequent you can apply in a year at FAANG? (For instance: Amazon, Google)

Also, how many positions are we allowed to apply?
There are just many positions at different teams right.

Hey all! I’m 30 years old. About to close on a house with a 5.75% fixed 30 yr mortgage. If you were me and your goal was to maximize your net worth by retirement, would you put a few thousand dollars extra into paying down the house faster or invest that extra money in the market? The 5.75% doesn’t feel that low but also not crazy high so I’m torn. Thoughts? 🙏

Does anyone use a brokerage account instead of a checking account? Mine offers a fee free debit/atm card and free checks which I'd rarely use but starting to question whether it is worth maintaining my "big bank" checking account that requires a $1500 minimum balance.

I also have a local credit union checking/savings that I'd use if I need any services or to deposit cash and a HYSA that gets my paycheck, is used for mortgage and credit card payments, and to transfer to checking or investments.

What’s everyone using instead of Robinhood? I just learned of WeBull recently but am not sure it’s for me.

Question about what to do next. I’ve maxed out everything—401k, HSA, IRA, backdoor Roth 401k. My bills are all paid. I’ll probably make about 16,500 more this year to do stuff with (ie money that isn’t going to taxes or insurance or anything). What should I do with it? Crypto? Set it on fire? Get a hair transplant?
