Who’s got book recommendations? No lame “business guru” books that repeat the same principle over and over again.
Fiction book recommendations? I'm in charge of our book club selection this month and don't know what to pick! Contemporary, historical fiction, chick-lit would be the ideal genres - something that's easy reading for a group of upper 20's women 🙂
Need some book recommendations! Just finished reading “The Idiot,” which was great but a bit of a taxing read. Looking for a dystopian fiction novel (favorite genre). For context, favorite books are 1) Red Rising series, 2) Unicorporated Man series, 3) The Fountainhead
Anyone have any book recommendations for real estate investing? There’s a lot of crap out there. Looking for a more serious book for someone who already understands finance and real estate basics.
I’m interested real estate investing (buying my first house this year) and would like to learn more. Does anyone have book recommendations? I can’t decide between flipping or rental income properties but also need to just learn about the whole home buying process.
Best investment book recommendations?
Book recommendations on Audible for a young male attorney struggling to get back to living a healthy lifestyle (physically, mentally, spiritually)? Open to any genre.
Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences. Or am I just not getting good book recommendations for growth/development on mental well being and productivity
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
Book recommendations for dealing with difficult people like passive aggressives and credit takers and just learning about diff personalities in general
Now that many are returning to classrooms, does it worry anyone that thousands are coming into the country after testing positive for Covid and not even being quarantined or detained?
What’s the feasibility of going from Big 4 to MBB by entering a Part Time MBA program (Booth/Kellogg)? Current KPMG Manager.
If you were to scout potential new hires for the Big 4, what qualities would you seek when scouting them? Like in the NFL, quarterbacks are judged on physical traits and arm strength.
Me: “Please send this form back with the issues you found so we can fix them” Client: *Sends back something entirely different with no explanation* 😒😒😒
Jumping from tier 2 to tier1, position remains the same. Will they hold tier 2 against me for comp negotiations?
Your mgr gets negative client feedback & uses the occasion to tell you everything they hate about you but insists you stay bc you have one of the highest bill rates long term. What would you do?
I’m looking for ideas. How do you guys have fun and still be a working mom? I’m killing it at work and at home, my kid feels secure and loved but I find fun and play is the hardest thing to achieve.
Saw that Charles Aris mentioned that corporate compensation is 5-10% higher than consulting. Is that versus base salary only or all in compensation?
Passed over for a promotion a third time, even after doing everything, and more, you’re supposed to? It’s time to GTFO
Thoughts on life insurance? My boyfriends brother started at Northwestern. I wasn’t buying into it at first. They played it up & I fell for it but now I’m contemplating it. I have a whole life & a term life, which totals $1M, costs $230/month. I have a 401k, Roth 401k, my own investments, I receive stock yearly from my company & purchase it quarterly at a discount. I have a finance degree, I’m good with my money, I budget, frugal & very in-tune with my finances. I’m just not sure if I need it.
Time to play client. You get to hire an agency for some TV/Hulu commercials. Preferably independent, preferably small to medium sized, and preferably NYC. Who you gonna call?
Looking for insurance recommendations. Anything out there better than Nationwide or Lemonade? Picking my pup up this weekend.
Currently at FAANG in a Client Solutions role. I’ve been here for 6 months, have the opportunity to potentially transition to BizOps or Product (in title, work is more implementation focused) in 6 months. Just got a Sales Strategy offer for a tech company but not FAANG. I like the team, pay is equal, and it’s remote with monthly travel. Scared of burning FAANG bridge with potential move out but also dislike my role because I hate sales and want to do strategy work. Thoughts?
Had a final interview Thursday and was just told by the recruiter, they will follow up in 1-3 weeks in regards to my candidacy. Good/bad sign? Or not worth worrying about?
Sick of paying for cable I don’t really use, minus live sports on the weekends, anyone have good experience with YouTube tv or PlayStation vue ?
I’m so scared I’ll say “Love you” to a client.
