Given the thousands of applications we get, it’s largely a case of making yourself standout as super interesting and having achieved extraordinary accomplishments over your ~7 years
LinkedIn can help if you click with someone and they’re willing to go out on a limb to give you a referral
Your best chance is a top 10 business school. From a top bschool, you have a 33-50% chance of getting into MBB. You could theoretically network your way in somehow, but that's probably a 99% failure rate scenario, if not worse.
Lol the odds of getting an MBB offer are nowhere near that high. Getting a first round interview sure, up to 50% odds I can believe
I question your qualifications based on that statement alone
100% agree with M2, although talking to recent bschool new joiners about their peers’ experiences, the odds of getting an interview (even with an HBS background) are fairly low nowadays
HSW / T7 MBA would help
Foe those who question my 33-50% MBB guess, here's some data. For the Booth class of 2024, 154 people went into consulting, with 101 going to MBB. That's a 66% MBB rate. This isn't perfect because of gaps like people failing all consulting recruting, or MBB returnees, but it shows that odds of entering MBB from a top bschool are pretty good. By contrast, trying to get in via LinkedIn peobably has a MUCH, MUCH lower success rate.
