How does @Dentsu India interview process works? I had a total of 5 rounds After first 2 they said they are ok with me but they think I am more suitable for 2 other roles,if I want any of them they will redirect. Then I chose the second JD, i had 2 more rounds of interviews and they said they are happy with me and let the HR do their formalities. But after 3 days when I called HR, i was told they are having few more interviews with other candidates and will confirm me! Dentsu Creative

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Prescriptive Analytics is not as flashy as ML, but the client impact I am seeing is significant and, especially important for consulting work, tangible. At the same time good OR modellers are significantly harder to come by than ML designers. With credible OR skills, we’d hire you in a heartbeat.
I would tend to say many recruiters don’t really understand the fine nuances in DS anyways.
What do you mean 'training vs traditional'?
If you are expert at one area You are good. My focus area is'standard' classification and regression algorithms. I'm functional in deep learning and time series but those are really separate areas of specialization in my opinion.
NLP is hot right now. If your passionate about it do it. If you're not and you are focused in another area you are probably good.
As in how often do you use the OR stuff you learned vs using traditional ML
At FAANG now but at gamma ive met a solid number of OR and optimization folks(think airline schedulers, shipping, manufacturing, refinement storage) who did some cool work. Not sure if this is the case but ive heard anecdotally the firm has questions that are more OR focused for those types of profiles vs generalist ML data scientists
