Similarly, if you are employed by a staffing agency at Meta are you barred from interviewing for other roles there? Facebook (Meta)

And I’m getting bombarded, as a person who likes to respond promptly with action and decisiveness, help everyone, and also give teams a heads up that working remote may affect this that and everything in between - it’s been way busier than I could have imagined. I kind of feel like managing communication remote has double my workload?
I’m also a remote worker and have worked with remote employees and vendors for a number of years. It can be shocking when you’re first thrown into it but you’ll adjust. The biggest piece of advice I have is don’t be afraid to over communicate, know when email or chat isn’t working and call for a meeting instead, and utilize video especially for internal meetings to stay connected and feeling like a team. Hang in there, it’ll soon become natural!
I’ve been PM-ing remotely for years. Yes, it’s harder. You have to communicate super clearly and hold others accountable to do things on their own without constant nagging/reminding. Make sure everything is clear and actionable in every correspondence and keep meetings brief but useful.
Totally. Definitely just a very stark and sudden adjustment from everyone together to every single person in a separate location - whenever I normally work from home and everyone else is at work it’s usually time I can actually focus and get work done. Not today babyyy.
You’re not alone.
I am planning on having quick calls with my team when needed - individually that is. It’s so much faster and cuts down on email, teams messages, texts
Ditto to Senior Project Manager 1. MS Planner / online Kanban boards are an easy way to support accountability digitally.
Also, I’ve encouraged my peers to still engage in impromptu discussions/chit chat. The medium has changed, but the idea is the same. If someone is available, they’ll pick up or they’ll tell you to call back. FaceTime is my preferred medium - gives you an opportunity to read body language when they pick up.
