Hello - thinking of starting a small side coaching practice. Could use a bit of help because I've never thought about opening a side hustle but times are tough with two kids in college.

1. What is the best approach to collecting your fee? Each session? Pay the package cost upfront,? Other, and if so, what is it?
2. How do you collect it? Venmo? Credit card?
3. Do you have to register your business?

Rant: my boyfriend is so annoying with this diet! I GET IT. You want to eat healthy! But when you have your friends at our place every other weekend they order pizza and you devour most of 2 boxes! But when I want pizza or wings or burgers I have to hear a whole spiel. “Can we pick something healthier?” “You can order ___ but can I choose something else on the menu?” “I don’t knowwww” like MY GOD. Can anyone recommend a good office chair for less than $100?

For those who moved from a client serving role to an internal role in public accounting while at a fairly high level (experienced manager or senior manager), did you take a pay cut or does your pay stay flat when you transition with minimal increases in subsequent years? Also what role are you in now? I really like EY and the company. I’d like to look at moving to an internal role but I’m worried I’ve priced myself out (currently at around 140k comp in LCOL).

Would it be terrible of me to quit during my rotation’s busy season? I got put on a mandatory rotation this summer (PwC is big on pulling resources especially now) but I’m really ready to get out. They stress being a “team player” and I have a feeling they will use this against me when I try to quit.
