Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

If they are resistant, maybe suggest having new counsel handle a matter or two as a test case rather than moving wholesale immediately.
Securities counsel here, commiserating but with nothing to really add.
I'm at a controlled company pubco and am forced to use the garbage big law firm that the PE firm always uses...I have absolutely zero control over my budget and the quality of work is just terrible.
I have quotes from 3 other firms that would do our SEC work for literally under a third of the cost and I can get absolutely nowhere buying in...and my bonus is partially determined by how underbudget I am. It's completely maddening and I'm exploring leaving but am getting nowhere in interviews.
PE is obsessed with big law credentials unfortunately…

How big is the legal department? It’s weird the GC would care at all.
Agreed on suggesting they handle a new trial matter that is somewhat low stakes. Make the new firm show their value and some firms are likely to help you sell them to the GC if you have a lot of business IMO (discounts, etc). I also kept track of the current OC’s mess ups of delayed replies to bring up as a “challenge” in one on ones.
