DM me if you’re interested in opportunities at Deloitte. As long as you’re “able to obtain” a Secret clearance, you can definitely transition from Finance to Gov’t contracting roles.

like

Hi @Deloitte 1 I'd be interested in any open federal contracting BA roles at Deloitte. I also have an Interim clearance and expecting an active clearance soon. Would it be okay if I DM you with an intro and request a referral?

That's not an issue for the most part. You'd likely start in a project that only needs a public trust investigation (super quick). And if you have skills needed for a higher clearance project. Accenture would support that.

DM me if you want a referral. I would need the position you're interested in, a short bio, and your resume.

like

Easy - Go to linkedin and type in seeking clearance / or sponsoring clearance . Also do this on clearance jobs and you should find companies and hiring managers that are willing to help you cfind a clearance . Also if you come with certifications a strong resume and some brains. im sure they will be willing to expedite that TS.

There are plenty of contracting job openings on USAjobs. You apply and if you are offered job they will start your clearance paperwork. You don't need it before hand.

I am in procurement, you can start and then work on the clearance. Most individuals don't have clearances when they first get hired.

Fishes, I have a job title question. Does it matter if a role is in the same project with different titles? Example: SA, State and Local, Researcher vs SA, State and Local, Business Analyst. The job description makes it sound like they are the same project. However, Business Analyst does have more requirements/qualifications listed than Researcher. I’m coming from industry (3 YOE). Any insight is much appreciated! Thanks :)

1. I enjoy the people management more than individual contributor stuff. What career paths do you see in our industry for people who are managing support engineering teams?

Hi Sharks 🦈,

Need some suggestions: My current company is on a layoff spree and 2 rounds are already done and I can foresee another round coming very soon.

While I am trying to switch to other companies, I’m not able to reveal the real reason from my side for the job change, as if I say, it’s because of layoff fears than it’ll reduce my negotiation power.

What other reasons can I give as I’ve just completed 9 months here and it’s too soon for any other company to take me in.

Case load= malpractice? Small plaintiff’s firm of 25 attorneys. I was a 2 year associate hired and given 50 active files in pre litigation status. 9 mos later a partner quit and I inherited 45 more. I got up to 105 files. Now I hover at 85 active files in varying stages of pre lit. I asked managing partner for help and was told to settle more claims to lessen my load. Is this what people consider negative work culture?

Been playing it cool because I know these things can take time, BUT, I just got let go from my current firm. I have til 12/15 to find a new job.

Do I tell her my timeline is now a month, or is telling them I'm getting fired going to tank my chances of getting the job?

Curious as to how many deals at once is typical for a first year associate to take on (M&A, mostly private equity clients). Deal size is lower middle market and I’ve worked on deals ranging from $1-$110M. 2 deals at once is plenty for me, but it seems like my peers are able to take on more than that at once and still do fine. Maybe I’m just a slow learner/out of my league at the big law firm I’m at.
