Any tips on writing a resignation letter?

I am planning on leaving Deloitte early august because I got accepted into the grad school program I had my eye on and I want to utilize the time I’m in grad school to also focus on passing the cpa exam.

You don’t need a letter… Just call the partner and SM/manager you are closest with or on their team, and let them know as a courtesy before putting your notice in on dnet. No one writes resignation letters

Feel free to use the below template as a point of reference; this is what I used:

“I resign.

- <First Name, Last Name, Date>“

No letter. Just call those closest to you and then email HR saying “as you may have heard, my last day is on (insert)”

Get a “Sorry for your loss” card, and write “it’s me, this is my 2 weeks notice” on the inside.

If I’m not mistaken you can click resign on talent on demand.

I resign effective today. My last day is X.

I’m a 5th yr considering lateraling from a V30 to a V100 to increase chances at partnership. The v100 makes a fair amount of partners in my practice and I would assess my chances at making equity partner there to be relatively good for BL. At the V30 equity partnership odds seem much lower, but my reviews have been good. The V30 has >$2mm per year higher PPP, higher chambers ranking and better exit ops generally.

Any advice as to how to decide on the offer? What else should I consider?

Looking for referrals for PM roles! I have a PMP. Located in NYC but open to remote/hybrid

In 2021, lost a ton of talented consultants to Meta with many receiving crazy good total comp. With the stock dropping and tech layoffs, do you think some will return to consulting? If they return, do you think they will come asking for the tech-level total comp they may have had as if they are possibly worth more given they worked in tech? Or would they be “back to (present) reality”?

I still have equity in the table vesting in the next 12 months and really don’t want to walk away from it, but would be very open to exit early and of course gracefully for fair offer. Just afraid to raise it. I suspect we have a round coming soon and don’t have reason to believe I’m in it.

Are recruiters allowed to share that you were the only candidate for a position? I have been going through the interview process and made it to the final round which ended up being a courtesy call. The call was very casual and gave me a lot of confidence.

But the recruiter had told me there’s another candidate. I haven’t heard anything from the actual interviewers about other candidates.

Do recruiters tell you there is always someone else? Or am I being too hopeful.
