Hi Infosys guys, I have cleared one technical interview and got email for further round which is planned for tomorrow. Email mentions that this is a telephonic interview, is this supposed to be an HR round discussing salary or another tech round.

Absolutely not
No matter how many times I takeoff or land at my home airport I gotta watch every time
I’d quit if I was local. I love this lifestyle

Absolutely. I get excited every time I fly to a new city (occasionally) or fly a new variant of aircraft (rare). Used to live in Asia and would schedule outrageous flights just to connect through a new airport.
You need shrink 🤔
D1: I’ve seen the northern lights, the glaciers of Greenland, the deserts of Australia...all while everyone else is consumed by their movie or asleep - or has their window shade closed from before we even take off. Flying is a beautiful thing.
Absolutely. Consulting without travel makes no sense to me; at that point I’d rather take the industry job and make more doing less (although the increased pay would probably mostly go towards personal travel that would have otherwise been covered by alt travel in a consulting job)
@D1 hmmm I’m sure everyone has different reasons but for me, besides the whole heavy metal moving at high speed thing, I think being high off the ground can remove you from the mundane world (and provide some great views on the process). Personally, I also love it when I happen to fly deep at night with a clear view of the stars — it’s kind of like the feeling of driving on an empty road with a clear sky untainted by light pollution when all I want to do is turn off all the lights and drive by starlight/moonlight. Also, the feeling when you notice a stunning view that no one else sees makes it feel like you’re privy to a secret.
My dad was a private pilot so I grew up flying with him a lot. Flying commercial is a bummer after that - you just have this tiny window on the side to see out of.
Definitely. Have also taken layovers simply to fly interesting aircraft or fly on aircraft with international biz cabins etc. Great to have a job that pays for your passion and lets you do it twice a week.
Everyone in this thread should read Skyfaring by Mark Vanhoenacker, a former management consultant who quit to become a pilot with BA. A beautiful book about the experience of flying.
Some people just want to watch the world burn...this gives me a golden ticket to the show
I feel most at home once I settle down into my first class seat.
You realize that those that work for airlines can fly standby for free? You could fly during your days off to destinations you want instead.
Yes! I mean I didn’t choose this profession because of my love of planes, but I do love a good bird...
Safe landings all!
Also have definitely booked roundabout routing just to fly specific planes (e.g. ORD-LGA/JFK-LAX)
Yes!!! I have been an aviation geek since elementary school!
Love aerospace, hate flying
