It's a way for PwC to make cuts without laying people off. I agree it's ridiculous though. They also pretty much took away all the WeCare money. So much for taking my team out to lunch once in a while.
Except the bonus anoint will be reduced ..to equal last year, my annual bonus percent would have to go from 10% to 16% to equal my bonus and contribution award in the PY. There is no way bonus percents for seniors go up that much so it's bs and a way to reduce bonuses.
I didn't even know about contribution awards until now lol
Senior 1...that's why I think seniors get screwed! We get hardly any more than our current annual bonus and loose the nice extra chunk that was contribution award..getting more on a higher salary this year does not count as an increase..,
How about real-time recognition?
^ so what are you out? Ten bucks?
^ no it's the principle of it. I'll make sure to allocate the bonuses being paid out in 12 months to Christmas 2017.
Mass exodus won't happen. Again, tax took away the contribution awards in favor of an annual bonus years ago and there was no mass exodus in the year following. If you truly hate your job that much, you aren't going to stick around until sept for what, in the whole scheme of things, is not a super significant amount.
If it's "everything" Why not leave now then and get your 10-20% industry bump now?
Because I like working for PwC.
So it isn't "everything."
You'll still get your bonus, just got to wait it out a bit longer.
It's BS!!!!!!!!
However, if the end goal is to preserve jobs with the anticipation of a couple rough years coming up, communicate that clearly in a townhall and I'm sure everyone would be on board.
Also as he only firm that was paying out these contribution awards during the spring, they're not at a huge disadvantage taking them away. Sure people will get pissed, but not like any of the other firms are doing this.
^ doubtful. Pretty much everyone got a contribution award, diluting the value of those really deserving it. The high performers/contributors will benefit most from the bonus moving to an annual thing.
^ You're the exception, not the norm. I was speaking in generalities.
Based on your performance rating instead of subjective contribution procedures. In our office managers fill out snapshot but don't determine rating. You can at least push back on snapshots prior to acknowledging it.
Yeah the rating system is not good. If your manager is lazy you won't get a 2 or 1. In order for that to happen they would have to write something for you, stick their neck out for you.
^maybe you haven't considered that you just got lucky and got a good manager?
I mean in the end it's fine. I left public after the last joke of a round table, got a 20% bump in pay and 20% less work. Much happier with life and definitely think I've got a much more lucrative career trajectory now. In the end everything happens for a reason, since if I didn't get shit in by my manager and partner, I'd still be in public working ungodly hours and miserable.
I was just trying to give an honest opinion on the roundtables. There is some luck involved and it's not based entirely on your skill or factors you can control. Some managers go the extra mile while some don't. That's life, shit happens. In the end things usually end up working out.
