Anybody else upset about PwC annualizing the bonuses (meaning no bonus until Sept 30, 2017) basically skipping any bonuses for FY17.

It's a way for PwC to make cuts without laying people off. I agree it's ridiculous though. They also pretty much took away all the WeCare money. So much for taking my team out to lunch once in a while.

like

Except the bonus anoint will be reduced ..to equal last year, my annual bonus percent would have to go from 10% to 16% to equal my bonus and contribution award in the PY. There is no way bonus percents for seniors go up that much so it's bs and a way to reduce bonuses.

That is what happens when the older generation of partners retire..

like

^the firm would never acknowledge a downturn in business.

^ they did in 2008/2009

like

You get paid more than auditors do. No, I will not get over it.

like

I hated the contribution award system because it didn't award a team for being efficient/cutting budget. It was also way to subjective. I like the change to yearly bonus in long run but think the short sighted impact of not allocating some of the bonus in December is a huge mistake (for them to save costs).

like

^low performer.

like

How? The managers are in control still, how will this eliminate any bias?

like

You won't get a contribution bonus

At least EY only cut our phone reimbursement

like

Partners never do what's an expense to them, sure let's have people take it all in , why not partners? $800k+ salaries and $250k pensions, isn't that excessive? How greedy can they get!

like

"Mass exodus" just as the new hires start... Sounds like good planning to be honest. I'm not happy about the cont award situation either but to be fair if they wanted to pay less bonus they would just do that. There are ranges for a reason.

like

@PwC7 2008/2009 was an anomaly. Yes when the entire fucking market crashes then the firm obviously has to say something. They don't acknowledge a projection of a general down year that's not due to a complete market crash.

like

This happened in tax two years ago... you will get over it.

like

We will see if that happens . Should be 16% of salary before senior bonus. Look I am not complaining I am just say stop lying to our faces ! Say it like it is.. We aren't stupid .

like

You realize I'm a high performer because I favor the performance based bonus over the contribution (not performance based). I think this will push better performance, quality, and efficiency because people will be focused on performing and not just contributing crap that makes you look good on paper.

like

Ratings are pretty subjective too, though. Seen plenty of 3's who should have been rated higher and vice versa.

like

The whole ratings system is fucked. Different managers have different sets of expectations and his makes it's way into the ratings. 100% of my snapshots were partially at next level or better, yet I as rated a 3. Probably because my SM expectations were way too high (comparative to the norm) and they didn't speak up during round tables. How is it that my snapshots say I'm already performing at the level of a first year manager, yet that's not good for anything better than a 3 rating?

like

Sorry your Managers suck but mine don't and they are willing to stick neck out. My manager last year flew into town just for career meetings to stick his neck out for his team. Maybe be a little more proactive with your manager and show them you are worth them sticking neck out for. Seems to be working for me.

like

^ I mean judging by how combative you come across on FB, I can see why you would get shat on. Agreed that everything happens for a reason though. Good job for moving on 👍🏼

DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good?
