Take a sunset cruise. Go snorkeling at Arashi beach, up by the lighthouse. Go to one of the local places in the interior of the island for dinner. Go 4WDing out to the natural bridge and natural pool up north, and caving in the way back. Go diving at any of the various wrecks if you like that sort of thing. Get pancakes at the place down by the big windmill. Relax by the water and read a book. "Not much to do”? F that noise.

You sound like a geek. How can a networking company be so much fun that you want to plan a trip there?

Aruba is a nice, chill island. There is a resort zone, but I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown. It's quiet, and they have a private island for relaxing.

I would suggest renting a car and exploring. On the other side of the island (<1 hr away by car) is a swimming lagoon called Baby Beach with calm water and great snorkeling. Good for beginners or advanced snorkelers.

Eagle and Palm Beaches (next to each other) are both fun. More activities there. Jet skis, kite surfing, etc.

About 1/3 of the island is a national park. It's dry and rocky with caves, natural pools, and succulents. You might think you are in Arizona until you see the Ocean! Fun for 4-wheeling and, again, great snorkeling.

Loved the Renaissance private island with the wild flamingos. Great diving. I rented an ATV for the day and it was a blast to ride the East part of the island, a lot of fun

It’s ok. Not much to do. Just stay at the resort
I prefer Cancun during offseason tbh

Beaches are nice, lots of shopping but altogether not that much to do in my opinion. I probably wouldn't go back on my own dime.

We rented a house & car and spent time at Eagle beach with the locals- great trip. Agree with P1.
Visited the resorts and hated it- but that’s not my thing. They get really busy during school vacation weeks and you have to fight for chairs/ wake up early and reserve with towels.

I loved it! Very laid back island life. Good beaches, excellent food. 4 Wheeling is the thing to do. You could take a tour but more fun if you rented a Jeep or land Rover and drove it yourself. It can get pretty windy so heads up on that. I stayed at Renaissance too which is away from the main area but either would be good. 4-5 days is good. Anymore and you would be bored. I there's some big 4 presence there. I visited my local office which was fun to see. It was basically a house that was renovated into an office.

I loved Aruba ! Definitely second baby beach, really enjoyed snorkeling ...

☝️ How did I miss the pancakes?!? 😭

I’ve been going to Aruba for over 10 years and I will say it’s a fantastic island if you’re not all about the nightlife on vacation. It’s very much a family island and the pace is slow, there are definitely bars / clubs near the high rise hotels and lots of restaurants within walking distance. In my opinion they’re not the greatest restaurants because you’re paying for convenience, however rent a car and you have access to everything. The low rise hotels are smaller and more family oriented, the high rise hotels get very crowded and their stretch of beach, Palm Beach, is smaller and noisier than the low rise (in my opinion). I stay at one of the low rise hotels on Eagle Beach which I enjoy because there’s no music, just the sound of the waves. I rent a car and visit the other side of the island, Arikok National Park which is a desert landscape. Visiting the California Lighthouse is fun and there’s a fantastic restaurant that I would recommend going to for dinner to watch the sunset. Downtown restaurants I would recommend Iguana Joe’s and Yemanja. Madame Jeanette’s is a must, ask to sit with Zuzanna she’s the best server there and is a personal friend. Chalet Suisse is a nice steakhouse atmosphere. Wacky Wahoo has great fresh seafood, the owner goes finishing that morning and whatever he catches is what’s for dinner; it’s in a random strip mall type location but the food is good. Any other suggestions you’re looking for let me know

^woah name

Stephanie - Madam Jeanette’s is one of the ones I was thinking of, but couldn’t recall the name. Thanks for the reminder! Will have to go back.

@OW2 I would suggest NOT going on a Thursday or Friday night. All of the timeshares turn over on Friday and Saturdays so the night before at MJ’s is usually crowded and hectic

Go to George’s to rent a 4 wheeler
Amigo had good car rental rates
The top 4 fine dining restaurants are food / wine pairings and are about 100 pp + extra for wine

For romantic on the beach dining, I like barefoot and the one at the Marriott
