Anyone else feel like masking at work is basically a second job? I’m constantly tweaking how I talk, sit, focus, even how much eye contact I make—just to seem “professional” or not “too much.” It’s mentally draining, especially in high-stress environments where expectations are sky-high. Has anyone here stopped masking at work? Did it backfire or actually make things better?

If you have to mask every day to keep your job, it’s not inclusion—it’s survival mode. No one should have to shrink themselves to be taken seriously.

Neurotypical people don't care - and they don't realize how much we have to do to accomodate them, let alone the accomodations we don't get we need for disabilities

NTs are also spending most of their time at the office managing their perception of others, not doing valuable work.

I don’t mask anymore. If something is too much I quite happily say so. I find the people around me appreciate the honesty and give me a little more time to process.

Hi All, just sharing what on mind to vent it out from my system. Maybe with this I could gain some insights and inspiration.
I have been working as a data scientist since 2018 & have been the bread winner. I have neither been under a proper mentor nor with a team of peers from my field to help me out. I was alone and confused. I have never really got the chance to prove myself which makes me all the more depressed. I'm not sure what to do with my future, indecisive and low on confidence.

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".
