How do I know I need to review a SOC report? If I’m relying on a report, yes I need to. But what about those applications that client uses as back-up center (AWS for instance). Do I still need to review SOC? What about applications used for record keeping but not processing of transactions (Quickbooks for instance)?
MD2......4 years until vested, a little more than 6 until I can comfortably retire. Love working with clients and practitioners, but SO tired of the politics/ego game. Is going internal an option?
When you're taking PTO and communicate you will be unreachable during that time due to personal reasons, so co-workers slide into your IG DMs with work chat because you don't respond via Slack or email 🥴
Would you advise splitting rent/expenses when moving in with SO 50/50 or based on income? He makes ~$50K more than me, but my salary would still allow me to afford an even half
Seeking to transition out of the current industry into cloud computing. Spent the last 2+ years learning and acquiring experience in AWS, CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS Pipeline, GitHub, and Terraform. Honing Bash and Shell scripting. Picked up certifications as a PMP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and AWS Solution Architect Associate along the way. Already have an MBA. The opportunity: A CD opening at an amazing agency in Europe (I’m American). The dilemma: I’m 8 weeks pregnant. The visa process is time consuming and expensive and I will likely go on maternity leave shortly after arriving. Do I tell them? Or just see how it goes and then spring it on them? File under: Things men never have to think about.

Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?

Any advice on how and when to mention that I’m expecting during an interview process (1st, 2nd or 3rd round)? I’m currently 20weeks pregnant and having an interview next week. I don’t know if the company I’m interviewing for will have maternity benefits. What’s a good way to ask about this? If you went through similar situations, could you please share your experience? TIA!
I am a PI attorney who has far too many clients to manage. This is due to having 4 major surgeries over the last 2 years and my sudden loss of a very experienced paralegal and inability to find a similar replacement. I stopped taking new cases a while ago and still feel like I need to dump some of my more time consuming cases but I worry about doing so, for a myriad of reasons. At the same time, I feel like a failure and am sleeping less and less at night. How do I get out of this nightmare?
