So far, I feel like I've heard a lot of talk about being understanding but very little day-to-day support.
As long as men with stay-at-home-mom wives are running the show, I'm afraid it's not going to change. They just don't default to seeing things how a working parent juggling both parenting and working does, and they don't see our struggles.
I should have stated that I’m a working mother of 3. I’m also struggling with a lot of empathy but zero support or action from my company, managers, or coworkers. I tried to carve out the morning for my children, forgoing my workouts, but somehow get roped into 8:30am calls. It’s frustrating. I was commiserating. Sorry if it wasn’t clear.

Yes. I don’t think there are enough people at the top who really “get it” most of them either have a stay at home parent or are still using a nanny or family member to help so I don’t think there’s a true understanding. I also don’t think it’s understood how much parents (more specifically moms) fear they will lose their jobs because of it.
I absolutely think I will lose my job if I use parenting as a reason to do less work. I’m really worried about it.
I most definitely think I was laid off because I have 2 kids at home and couldn’t work the way I normally do.
To be flexible, nimble and understanding that hours are not going to be normal. Without daycare and stimulation for kids it falls to parents, hopefully sharing those duties.
I don't feel dread or guilt🤷
