Yes I do agree with this. I had to purchase points bc I forgot to include the delay in points being posted when I booked a reward stay and was missing ~15k points when I showed up
It’s because Marriott hotels are franchises, unlike Delta planes, OP.

It’s just not an apples to oranges comparison. You’re talking about hundreds of franchisees that they need to get the data from and then post. Could they do it quicker? Sure, but you have to think about all the data the hotel needs to give them before they can post.
It probably has to go through the 6,000 systems Marriott has... sounds like they need a technology consultant to streamline their systems and processes. 😂
It used to be almost instantaneous with SPG, this started with the programs merge...

I always have to call to get the nights and points posted. Titanium elite. Never fails when I check my account I am 3 stays behind getting it posted. Call elite line, they are sorry, can’t believe it, blah, blah, blah. Fill out surveys, get apology email and it doesn’t change. Have had several issues with Marriott stays lately and still fighting over $2k of prepaid due to conference cancelling and couldn’t use room but won’t refund money. On most recent call made it clear was
